We ship 4–6 days before your event, so it usually arrives 1–2 days beforehand.
Hire is for 2 full days but you may have extra time with it depending on when your kit is delivered by the courier.
We always send kits out as early as possible, but we can’t take responsibility for delays or redeliveries outside of our control.

Not at all. Our kits and their camcorders + cameras are designed to be fun and simple to use.
The filming section in our guide will also walk you through everything to help you capture some great memories.

No worries! You can change your date up to 14 days (2 weeks) before your booking. After this point, we can’t guarantee a date change but if another kit is available we’ll do our best to accommodate. This will depend on timing and stock availability.

Once your booking is confirmed, you agree to our editing style, process, and final video length. We don’t offer refunds or revisions unless we’ve made a mistake (like spelling a name wrong). If you’d like something different, custom packages and raw footage add-ons are available at booking.
We always do our best with the footage and photos you provide, but please note we can’t guarantee a specific style or look if conditions on the day were different or how you or your guests use our gear.
Before editing begins, you’ll fill out a pre-hire questionnaire to share your music and style preferences.
Due to copyright restrictions, we can’t use popular mainstream songs in our edits unless they are in our library. This helps us avoid legal issues and ensures we don’t lose your finished video.

Each kit comes with your chosen camera/camcorder, all the essential gear (batteries, charger, film or SD card, carry case) plus our filming guide and package deliverables.

If something isn’t working, contact us straight away at hello@usonfilm.co.nz and we’ll help you out. Depending on the situation and if the issue is on our end, we’ll either refund you or send a replacement kit if time allows. While the kit is in your care, you’re responsible for looking after it.
We understand that accidents can happen, which is why we strongly suggest adding Gear Cover for extra peace of mind. If a camcorder, film camera, bag, or accessory is lost, damaged or not returned, a replacement fee will apply and at a higher costs unless you have Gear Cover. Think of it like car rental — optional but highly recommended.
While some cosmetic wear is expected (these cams have lived a life!) we only look at damage that goes beyond normal use.
To help avoid issues during transit, we provide a form for you to complete when returning your kit. This helps us monitor the gear’s condition during its journey and anything else we need to know before the kit is back with us.

We recommend booking 2–3 months in advance to secure your date. You can book up to 1 month before your event if kits are still available. A 25% non-refundable deposit secures your booking, with the remaining balance due 1 month before your date.

Absolutely. Our kits are perfect for weddings, elopements, hens/stag dos, proposals, milestone celebrations, even casual family holidays or parties with friends. If it’s worth remembering, it’s worth filming.

Yes you can! However we require all overseas hires to purchase gear protection and add any extra days you require for your trip.
If you’re travelling by plane, whether within NZ or overseas, please let us know by email before or after you book (or before we send your kit). There are certain airline and security guidelines we’ll walk you through and things we need to arrange before shipping your gear.
