You’re welcome to pay in full upfront if you’d rather have everything locked in and not think about payments again closer to the date.
Otherwise, we only require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure your date and camcorder. The remaining 50% balance will be invoiced one month before your hire date and must be paid in full before any gear is sent out. All invoices are issued via HNRY and Xero.

At this stage, we don’t offer Afterpay, layby or formal payment plans.
That said, if you’re a business or brand and need a little flexibility around payments, please email us and we can see what we can do where possible.

Think of gear protection like car insurance, you might not need it but it’s really helpful to have.
For an additional $99 (non refundable) our gear protection cover helps protect you if something goes wrong with the camcorder or included gear during your hire. This covers things like scratches, accidental damage, a broken lens, or small parts snapping off, major marks, small missing parts so you’re not hit with unexpected replacement fees.
Replacement costs can vary camcorders can be from $700+ and additional gear can be $150+ which is why we strongly recommend adding gear protection, especially if you’re filming in busy, outdoor or slightly risky environments.
Gear protection does not cover full water submersion, fire damage, or complete destruction/loss of entire gear. Full details are outlined in our Terms of Service on the website.
It’s completely optional but definitely encouraged.

We do everything humanly possible to get your cam to you on time, but courier delays are unfortunately outside our control. If something goes wrong, flick us an email we’ll always do our best to make it right.

If anything happens before or during your hire, please email us right away. If you notice an issue at the end of your hire, just fill out the End of Hire Form included in every box before sending your cam back. This protects you from being held responsible for anything that happens in transit.
Depending on the situation, we may offer a replacement or credit. If damage, loss, misuse, or failure to return the gear occurs, replacement costs may apply. For extra peace of mind, Gear Cover is available for $99 to cover minor accidental damage.

Yes! Every camcorder is fully wiped and reset before it’s sent to you, so you’ll have the maximum recording space available from the moment you start filming.
Our 2000s camcorders don’t use memory cards but have plenty of built in storage to capture your day. Our 2010s and modern camcorders come with the highest capacity memory cards available for that model.
We recommend filming in short snippets rather than long, continuous clips, this helps you capture more moments without filling up the storage too quickly. Save longer recordings for moments that really need it.
We’ve also had people hire two of the same camcorder to film from different angles, use them in different locations or simply allow for more recording time across the week.

If you’ve booked the camcorder for the week of your booking, it must be returned on the next business day after your event.
For example: if your event is on a Friday the camcorder needs to be dropped off at the post office the following Mondayor if you’re in NZ booked for courier pickup using the prepaid tracking number we provideIf you’ve booked the camcorder touse after your booking date, it must be returned on the same weekday the following week.
Please note: a $50 late fee a day applies if the camcorder is not returned on the required date, we receive automatic updates from the courier when your box is on it’s way back to us.

Yes you can! If your new date is available, we’re happy to move your booking across. If your new date isn’t available, unfortunately we’re unable to offer a refund, as your cam and dates were reserved specifically for your original booking.

You may cancel your booking at any time. However, as bookings are date-specific and cams are reserved exclusively for your event, all payments and deposits are non-refundable.
If you cancel after your camcorder has already been sent, you will be required to pay the full booking amount.
We do not offer refunds for circumstances outside of our control or for dissatisfaction with our editing or services. We encourage you to review our gallery and cams before booking.
Some of our older model camcorders have lived a life. Minor cosmetic wear like scuffs, scratches, or signs of use is to be expected and does not affect performance or footage quality.

We don’t offer revisions, but we do offer something better a Video & Details Form. This lets you choose your video style and preferences upfront, so your final edit feels right from the start and your hire with us runs smoothly.

Each battery lasts around 2–4 hours of continuous filming depending on your camcorder, depending on the camcorder. Because most people film in short snippets rather than nonstop, batteries usually last the full day when used normally.
We fully charge all batteries before sending your cam. If a battery arrives unexpectedly flat, just let us know and we’ll send a charger out to you.

Camcorders are relaxed and unobtrusive AND it’s usually your friends or family filming not a stranger.
One shy couple told us afterwards
“We didn’t even realise half of this was being filmed of us… and it’s our favourite footage. -
Often yes! If a camcorder is available, we can sometimes ship it a few days before your booking occasionally even the day before or if you’re local, able to pickup.
That said, weekends, public holidays, and summer dates book fast, often months (or even a year) in advance. If you have a date in mind, we recommend getting in touch as soon as you can.

At this stage, no our 35mm film camera is available only as an add on when booked alongside one of our camcorder packages.

We strongly recommend not removing or inserting your own film. Each camera is set up specifically for the film provided and changing the roll could risk damaging the film, the camera or affecting your final results.
